“Honoring Those Who Serve”

The Dignity Foundation is a US-based non-profit organization dedicated to affirm, preserve and nurture the dignity of our elders. We are blessed as an American Muslim community to have so many honorable, committed and dedicated Muslim leaders who have served selflessly for decades. They have served as imams, leaders of non-profit organizations, teachers, and/or scholars and their contributions have had a profound effect on us as a community. 

Many of our leaders are not compensated for their worth nor have retirement funds or long term support once they reach old age or are befallen by illness or other circumstances. No leader in our community should have to struggle or suffer in silence. 

The people are to honor our elders and show them respect. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)  says, “He is not from us whoever does not have mercy on our young and reverence for our elders.”
